The East York Bulldogs finished tops last month at the Vic Teal Hockey Tournament. The Novice level AAA division team ended the weekend with three wins and a tie, making it to the final against the Guelph Junior Storm. The Bulldogs defeated the Storm with a final score of 5-1. The team is proud to have five members who are Beach residents, including Mackenzie Mitchell, Thomas Stewart, Eric Butler, Connor Hay and Jack Waslen.
Pat Menzies runs through Woodbine Beach, during the Balmy Beach Club’s 32nd annual Hair of the Dog Fun Run and Walk on Jan. 1. Erin Sheard won the 9 km women’s open category in a time of 36:52.02 while Nick Robson took the men’s open 9 km title with a time of 33:53.8.
