A number of All Candidates Meetings have been scheduled in the area in the run up to the provincial election on Oct. 6.
In Beaches/East York the first will be held on Sept. 20 and is organized by the Toronto District School Board and Trustee Sheila Cary-Meagher. The non-partisan Education Day forum is inviting local candidates from the major provincial parties to share their party’s education platform and answer voter questions. The meeting will be held at Secord Public School (Danforth/Main area) starting at 7 p.m.
The next Candidates Meeting will be on Sept. 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Beach United Church, 140 Wineva Ave., (just north of Queen). This event is co-hosted by Neighbourhood Link and Beach United Church. The moderator will be CC55 board chair Jason Balgopal and the focus will be on seniors’ issues.
On Sept. 29, Beach Metro News will hold its debate at St. John’s Norway Church (Woodbine/Kingston Road) starting at 7 p.m. The moderator will be the Toronto Sun’s Christine Blizzard.
In Scarborough Southwest the TDSB Education forum is also on Sept. 20. It will be held at Birchcliff C.I. (Danforth Ave/Birchmount), starting at 6 p.m.
