Man, 39, charged after alleged assault of Parking Enforcement Officer near Carlaw and Dundas

Toronto police have charged a 39-year-old man in connection with an incident in which a Parking Enforcement Officer was allegedly assaulted in the Dundas Street East and Carlaw Avenue area on the afternoon of May 15.

A 39-year-old man is facing a number of charges in connection with an alleged assault of a Parking Enforcement Officer in the Dundas Street East and Carlaw Avenue area earlier this week.

Police were called to the area at about 1:35 p.m. on Monday, May 15, for the reported incident.

According to police, a Parking Enforcement Officer was in the process of issuing a ticket to an illegally parked vehicle when a man allegedly opened his car door and struck the officer in the body and leg. The man then allegedly punched the officer in the chest, police said.

Riaz Ahmad, 39, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with assaulting a peace officer, assaulting a peace officer while using a weapon, and driving while under suspension.
