A male victim has been rushed to hospital after being shot by a Toronto police officer in the Victoria Park and Danforth avenues area just after noon today.
Police were called to the area for a report of a man with a knife earlier in the day.
In a tweet , Toronto police said an officer discharged their firearm at a male at 12:09 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10. The man was then taken to hospital by emergency run. Paramedics said the shooting victim is in life-threatening condition.
The shooting took place at the rear of the Shopper’s World plaza on the southwest corner of Victoria Park and Danforth avenues.
Police had the area behind the Metro grocery store and the railroad tracks taped off as that appears to be where the shooting took place.
This an ongoing story, so please look for updates later in the day.
