Ted Reeve Hockey Association hosts Championship Day action

The Ted Reeve Hockey Associations hosts its house league Championship Day on March 30 at Ted Reeve Arena on Main Street.

The Ted Reeve Hockey Association hosts its house league Championship Day today (Saturday, March 30) with teams playing in final games in age groups ranging from to Novice to Midget.

The hockey action will be taking place all day at the Ted Reeve Arena, 175 Main St., with the Novice games starting at 9 a.m. and wrapping up with the Midget final games at 9 p.m.

Today’s Championship Day concludes the 64th year of the Ted Reeve Hockey Association providing minor hockey opportunities to local youngsters.

“For 64 year now, hundreds and hundreds of kids have participated in our annual house league Championship Day,” said Andy Johnstone of Ted Reeve Hockey Association in an email to Beach Metro Community News.

“It’s awesome to see our local kids celebrate a year of fun, development and sportsmanship. Please come out and help support and promote our non-profit community organization that works with over 700 local players and their families,” Johnstone said.

While today’s games will end this season, the next one will be extra special as it marks the 65th anniversary of the Ted Reeve Hockey Association.

A number of special events are planned for the 65th anniversary season, and more details will be available in the fall.
