Judy Foote, Minister of Public Services and Procurement, has issued a prohibitory order to stop the delivery of the controversial, Beach-based publication, Your Ward News.
In a press release issued by Standing Together Against Mailing Prejudice (STAMP), Lisa Kinsella, a founding member of STAMP, explains that a prohibitory order is a “legal instrument issued by Canada Post against a mailer. Its effect is to criminalize any attempt by a particular mailer to continue to send offensive material via Canada Post.”
Kinsella said that Foote’s order is immediate and James Sears, the editor-in-chief of Your Ward News, has ten days to request a review.
Your Ward News has recently released their Summer edition on their website, but it is unknown if it has already been mailed.
