Police arrest man for robbery of Queen and Woodbine bank

Toronto police have arrested a man in connection to a bank robbery near Queen Street East and Woodbine Avenue.

Aaron Scott, 29, has been charged with robbery, according to a release from Toronto Police 55 Division today.

Police said that on Wednesday, April 20 at 8 p.m. a man wearing sunglasses and a baseball hat entered a bank near Queen Street East and Woodbine as it was preparing to close.

He “asked the teller about opening up an account” and then “made a verbal demand for money and indicated he was armed with a gun.”

But he was not successful in obtaining any money, said police, and subsequently left the branch.
