Police are warning car owners to be alert after five high-end vehicles were stolen in the Beach last week.
Police at the local 55 Division say surrounding divisions are seeing a similar spike in auto thefts.
Four of the five vehicles stolen in the Beach were Lexus and Toyota models. They were taken from the Pine Crescent, Spruce Hill Road, and Lee Avenue areas.
Thieves stole the vehicles overnight, and they left no signs of forced entry, such as damaged ignitions or broken glass. All the vehicle keys were accounted for by their owners.
Anyone with information is asked to phone 55 Division police at 416-808-5500, or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be sent online at www.222tips.com, by texting TOR and a message to CRIMES (274637), or by leaving a tip on the 55 Division Facebook page.
