Local Beach teens Andrew Mullen and Alec Tulett, both 16, are on their way to British Columbia on Labour Day weekend with their Ontario team mates in the Canadian National Lacrosse Championships.
Both made the Ontario U16 field lacrosse squad for the first time from an initial tryout in which nearly 90 players from all over the province participated.
Both Andrew and Alec played with the Toronto Beaches midget team.
Andrew recently won the OFSAA lacrosse championship with his school, St. Michael’s College School and was named defender of the tournament. He has also been drafted into the OHL by the Ottawa 67’s.
Alec, who attends Royal St. George’s College, also plays in the EDGE Lacrosse program, which helps players achieve scholarships and focuses on academics.
