•Historical walking tours
Grab your walking shoes and your sunscreen and take advantage of this beautiful summer weather by joining one of local historian Gene Domagala's popular Walking Tours through the neighbourhood. On Monday, Aug. 2 (Civic Holiday Monday), Domagala will lead us through the 160-year-old St. John's Cemetery at St. John's Norway Anglican Church. Many of the Beach's early settlers are buried there and Domagala has lots of stories to tell. The tour will start at 1 p.m. at the corner of Kingston Road and Woodbine Avenue.
On Labour Day, Monday, Sept. 6, the focus is on the Village of East Toronto. Wend your way past lovely old homes and buildings in this former railroad community. Meet at the corner of Main Street and Danforth Avenue beside Hope United Church at 1 p.m.
